Abilene Christian University | College Graduation
It was early December 2015. I get a call from my dad. I could hear the excitement in his voice. "Are you in town?". I reply, "Yeap. I'm here". So he's setting me up for something. :-) I just knew it. "What do you need? What's going on?", I reply. "Your cousin is graduating." "Which cousin? And when is he/she graduating?" "Your cousin Will. William Moore is graduating. Your Aunt Francis' son." At this point I'm laughing inside because I've always told him he has to give me more information. I can't read minds. And I have several cousins who are in the line up to graduate from college. "Cool. Good for William. So what's up?". Dad says, "William is graduating from Abilene Christian. He wants you to come take his graduation photos on December 11th." "Well I have to see where I'll be. Oh wait. I'm in Detroit." "What's in Detroit?", he says. And now there's frustration in his voice. And with that I knew I had to get to Abilene for William's graduation.
My dad pictured here an hour before the graduation.
For my dad he always stressed the importance of education. And he stressed the importance of family and supporting family in all things right. :-) Because of course you're not going to get his vote on wrong doing. So I made arrangements to be in Abilene, Texas for Williams graduation. I was coming from Plano East High school. And driving from Plano to Abilene is a long one. So I was happy with breaking up the drive by stopping to pick up my dad in Pleasant Groove. I don't necessarily like driving. :-) But of course this was for my dad and William. The trip was a quick one. We went up. Met William. Took a few pics and called it a day!
